Oxbow Horse Farms Under Construction Again! October 2006
In order to better ourselves yet again, Oxbow is creating many more
paddocks to provide more individualized turnout. We don’t know how
we’d manage without all the help and support from family and
friends. Thanks to everyone!
Detroit News

The Detroit Newspaper interviewed Kim Sutherland on her escapades
from the auto industry into the horse world. It’s a wonderful
article,

Sterling Cross Halloween Fun Show
October 2006
Oxbow Horse Farms was thrilled to be invited to participate.
Sterling Cross, a neighboring barn here in Milan, planned the day
full of fun games including flag races, rescue race and even musical
stalls. The costume class was a favorite. Lucy Yurko dressed Sierra
up as the pirate Jack Sparrow and herself as Elizabeth Swan .
It was a blast! We can’t wait until next Halloween so we can do it
all over again.
Honey Run Team Challenge

October 2006
Our good friend Maqui from Uruguay has finally come to visit! After
a long summer of waiting and planning Maqui has arrived to add some
steam to our Western Program. She is very adept at all Western

amazing!
Milan Moose Equestrian Extravaganza
September 2006
Combined with our local Moose Chapter, Oxbow Horse Farms had a
wonderful time co-hosting this event. We teamed up with family and
friends and provided face paintings, lead rope making, t-shirt
designs, twine games and horse rides for the public! The most
amazing part was the quadrille that our girls put on! Christina
Silsby on Louis, Amanda Mayros on Karmia, Annie Taccolini on Skye,
and Amber on Lady B put on an impressive show.
Summer Pony Camps
We enjoyed our summer pony camp with the kids. From feeding the
horses to learning basic horsemanship skills everyone had a great
time! We enjoyed our daily riding lessons and the horses loved their
baths. The horse show conclusion was one of the best parts complete
with ribbon laced manes, braided tails and fun awards!
New Fields
Over
Memorial Day weekend, the Oxbow crew kicked off the summer
by erecting 8 acres of new turnout pasture! We also put up four
new hitching posts just for good measure.
New Outdoor Arena We
have just completed work on a beautiful new outdoor arena.
This will be the nexus of activity over the summer, just in time
for
schooling, pony camp and summer lessons.
Nature's Fun Show On
June 9-11, Team Oxbow attended the
Nature's Last Stand Fun Show with nine students.
This was Erin, Rick, Quinn, and Kim's first show. And they all rode
successfully, with plently of ribbons to decorate their bridles.
Annie and Lucy came in third and fourth, respectively, in intermediate
jumping class. Chris overcame Louis' show-day
nerves to put him around two seperate jump courses.
Gigi placed second in her equitation class and Katarina went around
the obstacle course with no fear.
